Call for Nominations - HIMSS APAC Board of Advisors

HIMSS is looking for healthcare professionals with a wealth of experience and expertise to sit on the HIMSS APAC Board of Advisors.
The purpose of the APAC Board of Advisors is to:

  1. Serve as an advisory body to, and vital resource for, the HIMSS management team regarding HIMSS’ APAC operations. As a critical consultant, the APAC Board of Advisors will work in partnership with the HIMSS management team to offer, among other things, strategic insight, specific expertise, and key market/industry trends to further support and advance the organization.
  2. Act as ambassadors for the mission of HIMSS, including supporting the development and promotion of HIMSS in the APAC region. The APAC Board of Advisors will continue to support the vision and mission of HIMSS and operate within the strategic framework for One HIMSS established by the HIMSS Board of Directors.

The APAC Board of Advisors should be representative of the different countries, regions, constituencies and skills relevant to HIMSS APAC operations, as well as of the diversities of gender, race and age in as far as is possible from a given range of candidates.

Qualities desired for members of the APAC Board of Advisors include:

  • Ability to meet projected time commitments
  • Capacity for attention and loyalty to this organization
  • Ability to function as a member of a deliberative, advisory body
  • Ideology and values consistent with those of the organization
  • Experience on other bodies in a leadership capacity
  • Professional and business achievement in the field of HIT
  • Demographic, gender, and experience balance with others on the board of advisors

    • Experience at a major business unit/department level
  • Influence and relationships with relevant healthcare organizations, governments, and/or supplier companies in the APAC region

Candidates with the following will be preferred:

  • Possess a deep understanding of the use and application of technology in a healthcare setting – such as, but not limited to, electronic health record, health information systems, telehealth, nursing informatics, cybersecurity, data governance and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Term of Appointment

Members of the APAC Board of Advisors shall have terms that run for three (3) years, with the ability to serve a recommended maximum of two (2) terms.

Member terms shall commence on July 1 (after appointment by the HIMSS management team) and end on June 30.
