The HIMSS Foundation has introduced HIMSS Gives Back, a new initiative that taps the collective power of HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition attendees, exhibitors and HIMSS members to make a positive social impact on conference host communities.

For HIMSS22 in Orlando, HIMSS Gives Back is partnering with Healthy Start Coalition of Orange County, a not-for-profit organization that works to ensure pregnant women have access to care and to improve maternal and infant health while reducing preterm births, low birth weight babies and infant mortality.

The initiative’s goal is to raise $30,000 to help Healthy Start Coalition of Orange County provide lifesaving services to more families with new parent resources and upgraded technology.

Currently, care coordinators work from clients’ homes using outdated technology and unreliable internet. Upgraded technology would expedite Healthy Start’s intake process, increase the odds of a family utilizing resources.

Technology would also serve more families by helping care coordinators access and modify client records quickly, render EMR reports and protect against cyberattacks.
