Protecting digital health systems and patient information

Healthcare throughout the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region has transformed rapidly during the pandemic. The integration of digital technologies, even in countries that previously relied on paper-based systems, accentuates the importance of data privacy. HIMSS is committed to ensuring the security and privacy of patient health information around the world.

In pursuit of that goal, HIMSS brought together a collection of nations for the APAC Cybersecurity and Privacy Government Virtual Roundtable in February 2022. This discussion was attended by a representative from the World Health Organization and government representatives from seven APAC countries: Bhutan, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan and the Philippines. As the roundtable was held under the Chatham House Rule, the participants quoted in this report have been de-identified.
