Ed Marx
CIO Cleveland Clinic

Edward Marx is Chief Information Officer at Cleveland Clinic, an $8 billion medical system that includes a main campus, 10 regional hospitals, 18 family health centers, and facilities in Florida, Nevada, Toronto, Abu Dhabi and London. He is responsible for the development and execution of strategic planning and governance, driving optimal resource utilization, and team development and organizational support. Ultimately, he will develop leaders and leverage digital healthcare technologies to enable superior business and clinical outcomes.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic, Edward served as CIO of several health systems in Texas, New York, Colorado and Ohio.

Edward began his healthcare service as a janitor while in high school where his commitment to patient care began. He later served as an anesthesia technician before transitioning to the information technology field. Concurrent with his healthcare career, Edward served as an Army combat medic before becoming a combat engineer officer.

Edward is married to Simran and they have five children and three grandchildren. A member of TeamUSA Triathlon, he attempts to stay health through competitive cycling and running.

 

David Houlding
Principal Healthcare Lead, Industry Experiences at Microsoft Corporation

David Houlding is the Principal Healthcare Lead on the Microsoft Azure Industry Experiences Team. David has more than 24 years of experience in healthcare spanning provider, payer, pharmaceutical, and life sciences segments worldwide, and has deep experience and expertise in blockchain, cloud computing, privacy, security, compliance, and AI / ML.

David currently serves as Chair of the HIMSS Blockchain in Healthcare Task Force, a group of ~100 leaders from across healthcare worldwide, collaborating to advance blockchain in healthcare. David also currently serves as an advisor to both the British Blockchain Association and Lifeboat Foundation. David has led the successful creation and deployment of a wide range of solutions to help reduce the cost of healthcare, improve patient outcomes, experiences, and engagement.

Prior to joining Microsoft in 2018 David served for over 10 years at Intel Health & Life Sciences where he was the Director of Healthcare Privacy & Security, responsible for enabling healthcare organizations worldwide to achieve compliance with regulations and data protection laws, and implement effective privacy and security programs. In his current role at Microsoft, David works with key partners and industry influencers to enable healthcare organizations make use of cloud computing and related technologies to reduce healthcare costs, and enable new transformative healthcare use cases to improve patient outcomes, leveraging strategic technologies such as such as AI / ML, blockchain, IoMT (Internet of Medical Things), and others.

David has a proven track record for innovation with 5 patents granted by the USPTO. David currently holds the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), and CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional) credentials, and has a Master of Applied Science in Data Compression and Digital Signal Processing from Simon Fraser University, Canada.

 

Mitch Parker
Executive Director, Information Security and Compliance, Indiana University Health

Parker, Executive Director, Information Security and Compliance at Indiana University Health with the last 16 years spent on working to build unique systems that meet customers' business and security needs through the entire systems development lifecycle. 

Parker focuses on the processes behind implementing systems to augment business, and the infrastructure required to support them successfully. 

 

Dr. Tina Moen
Senior Deputy Chief Health Officer & Chief Pharmacy Officer within IBM Watson Health

Tina Moen has spent the last 17 years in the healthcare information technology industry providing clinical leadership to colleagues and clients in the US and abroad. Moen serves as Senior Deputy Chief Health Officer & Chief Pharmacy Officer within IBM Watson Health. In this role, Tina works across the business providing clinical leadership and support for strategy and sales. Additionally, she leads efforts to educate the business on the published evidence that supports Watson Health solutions, as well as broader IBM technology.

Prior to IBM, she was VP of Client Strategy for Health Language, part of Wolters Kluwer Health. In this role, she collaborated with clients to identify their terminology needs and worked to deliver a solution to "unlock" data and drive semantic interoperability across the enterprise. Previously, Tina worked at Truven Health Analytics in a variety of roles. She served as the VP of Provider Analytics, leading a team of data scientists and researchers responsible for creating/maintaining data and methodologies.

As Chief Clinical Officer for the Truven Provider business, Tina was responsible for clinical leadership for the clinical evidence and intelligent evidence product lines. Tina led and contributed to a team of clinicians responsible for communicating the value proposition of Micromedex Solutions in domestic and international markets. In addition, she led the Truven editorial staff, who are responsible for creating/maintaining content for evidence-based medicine solutions, including drug, disease, toxicology, patient education and surveillance solutions.

Dr. Moen received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Creighton University. Prior to moving into the healthcare information technology industry, she worked as a clinical pharmacist in the specialty areas of pediatrics, home healthcare, HIV, and organ transplantation.

 

Dr. Steve Rust
Lead Research Data Scientist, Nationwide Children’s Hospital

Dr. Rust has a PhD in Mathematical Statistics and 32 years of experience as a consulting statistician/data scientist for Battelle, the largest independent contract research organization in the US, including 4 years focusing exclusively on healthcare informatics. He is currently the Lead Research Data Scientist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, a position he has held for the past 3½ years. Dr. Rust’s healthcare informatics and data science work is focused on predictive analytics, using statistical methods and machine learning technologies to develop algorithms that are incorporated into the care process for pediatric healthcare patients.

 

Tim Collins
Director, Box.com

Tim Collins has over twenty five years experience in healthcare technology solutions. Tim has presented at numerous conferences on leveraging emerging technologies to improve processes and drive more efficiency in healthcare. Tim is also a Board Member for the Addiction Services Council of Cincinnati.

 

Andy Sajous

Sr. Client Solutions Architect, AHEAD

Andy Sajous is an experienced Senior Client Solutions Architect with many years of working in IT and Healthcare. Skilled in public cloud. data center design and network security, Andy has over 10 years of IT experience and holds a Bachelor of Science in Network Technology and a Master of Science in Computers, Information and Network Security from DePaul University. He is also an Adjunct Professor at DePaul University teaching curriculum in the College of Computing and Digital Media.
