Break the Attack Chain: Protecting Identities from Cyber Attackers

proof

Cybercriminals continue to target the healthcare industry with obtaining credentials being the primary motivation for most threat actors. Stolen credentials offer a multitude of attack vectors for cybercriminals, but not all credentials are created equally. At least not in the eyes of would-be cybercriminals. Instead, threat actors target specific job functions or departments where healthcare staff work in vulnerable ways or have access to key clinical or financial systems. It is critical to align protection with risks targeting users throughout the attack chain—from initial compromise to lateral movement to impact.

Learning Objectives:

1.  Discuss research that shows which healthcare job functions are most attacked

2.  Identify various tactics used by cyber attackers to launch their exploits such as phishing, ransomware and BEC

3.  Assess techniques to detect and prevent privileged identity risk and stop lateral movement in action
