HIMSS Launches Partner Innovation Exchange Programme to Connect Leading Health and Care Organizations across the Globe

Berlin, Germany, 25 February 2019: HIMSS has announced the launch of the “Partner Innovation Exchange” programme, an initiative to convene key digital health influencers to drive the mission to improve healthcare through information and technology.

A number of leading associations have already officially become partners: the European Union of Private Hospitals, TicbioMed, HL7, the European Cyber Security Organization, the Copenhagen Institute for Future Studies, the European Health Management Association, Sitra, Vitalis, Finnish Diabetes Association and EIT Health, amongst others. The HIMSS Partner Innovation Exchange welcomes the following organizations to join:

  • Professional organizations: patient organizations, medical associations, CNIO federations
  • Healthcare providers: hospitals, municipalities, regions, care centers, clinics, trusts
  • Non-for-profit organizations: EU institutions or projects
  • Academic institutions: universities, educational programmes
  • Other: media publications, healthcare agencies, PR/Communication agencies

To further HIMSS’ mission to drive better health through information and technology, the HIMSS Partner Innovation Exchange provides participants with exclusive, year-round opportunities to spark innovation and to support better health and care outcomes. Some of the opportunities include collaborating on research, contributing to key media publications with knowledge and insights, access to professional development opportunities and the HIMSS eLearning Center, preferential or complimentary access to some of the largest and most influential digital health conferences worldwide, and much more.

Bruce Steinberg, Managing Director and EVP of HIMSS International, said: “Our newly launched Partner Innovation Exchange will give the organizations involved the opportunity to be surrounded by a large network of support to learn, share and connect with each other. We are excited to gather like-minded associations who lead and innovate in the digital health space. As the ever-changing landscape of healthcare information and technology continues to develop and gain momentum, it is more important than ever for key organizations to come together to ultimately move healthcare forward, with the joint goal to improve patient care”.

Sabine Schumann, Head of Communications at EIT Health, commented: “EIT Health joins the HIMSS Partners Innovation Exchange as strategic partner. With our network of 150 partner organisations and support by the EU, we collaborate across borders and deliver innovative healthcare solutions to enable European citizens to live healthy lives.”
