Scott Pelley, an award-winning “60 Minutes” correspondent, author and former CBS Evening News anchor and managing editor, will lead a discussion on workforce sustainability, retaining talent and work-life balance during a HIMSS22 keynote session.

Preparing for the 2022 and Beyond Workforce will take place from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. ET Wednesday, March 16, in the Valencia Ballroom at the Orange County Convention Center.

Experts joining Pelley on the panel to share their perspective include Tamara Sunbul, CPHIMS, FHIMSS, MD, PMP, Medical Director Clinical Informatics and Strategy & Risk Management Consultant, Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH); Diane Swonk, Chief Economist and Managing Director, Grant Thornton; and Johnny Taylor, President and Chief Executive Officer, Society For Human Resource Management.

Today’s workforce is dealing with an insurmountable level of stress as survivors of economic downturns, terrorist attacks, the rapid growth of the Internet and the rise of social media, climate change, war, the repercussions of having considerable student debt and increasing social and political strife. By 2025, Generation Y, or the millennial generation, is projected to make up 75 percent of the global workforce.

This vital keynote session will address the ripple effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current makeup of today’s workforce, as 2021 has been identified as the year of the “Great Resignation.”
