HIMSS partners with UK Department for International Trade to advance cross-border digital health collaboration

The partnership will be formally launched at the HETT show taking place in London this October

[London, 30 September 2019] HIMSS, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, has announced today that it will be working with Healthcare UK, part of the UK Department for International Trade, funded by NHS England and Department for Health and Social Care, through its Partner Innovation Exchange initiative.

Healthcare UK’s mission is to support the NHS and the UK’s private healthcare sector in trade and investment worldwide through the UK’s embassy networks overseas. It builds the NHS’ capability to export its expertise through a suite of programmes, including the Export Catalyst and the Export Collaborative.

HIMSS, a global mission-driven, non-profit organisation, provides expertise in health innovation, public policy, workforce development, research and analytics to advise stakeholders on best practices in health and information and technology.

By teaming up with HIMSS, Healthcare UK will seek to share the UK’s learning with other nations and bring in innovation, ideas and investment back to the NHS and to the wider UK region, leveraging the global network of the organisation.

The new partnership will be formally launched at the HETT conference, taking place in London at the ExCeL centre on 1-2 October, expected to attract over 3,000 attendees from the sector. HIMSS is the official knowledge partner of the show and is organising a digital maturity theatre, interactive sessions and providing full HIMSS TV coverage on-site through the HIMSS@HETT collaboration.
