Meet the Changemakers: Morgan Searles

HIMSS serves the global health information and technology communities with focused operations across North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Our members include more than 80,000 individuals, 480 provider organizations, 470 non-profit partners and 650 health services organizations. The HIMSS staff is made up of changemakers who collaborate with members to reform the global health ecosystem through the power of information and technology.

Morgan Searles is Strategic Communications Manager at HIMSS.

How long have you been at HIMSS?

I joined HIMSS in December 2019. Even though it hasn’t even been a year yet, I’ve already worked on amazing, challenging and worthwhile projects alongside many talented people. It feels like I’ve been with HIMSS much longer.

How do you support our mission statement?

I support the HIMSS mission by communicating and amplifying the knowledge, ideas, experience, projects, plans and events coming from my brilliant colleagues within this organization. I work to determine the optimal timing and the best channels for sharing information with HIMSS members, with healthcare technology communities and with the world.

How do you know your work at HIMSS makes a difference?

My work is very collaborative, so when people inside and outside of HIMSS recognize the clarity, speed, relevance and energy of our communications, I know my contributions have been meaningful. I want to make sure the news and insights we share illustrate where HIMSS stands and calls others to join us in transforming the health ecosystem.

What’s one thing you wish everyone knew about the work you do at HIMSS?

I wish everyone could get to know all of the intelligent, kind, optimistic people who are diligently working through HIMSS to improve healthcare information and technology.
