How long have you been at HIMSS?

I celebrated 20 years on June 6!

How do you support our mission statement?

Setting up our members and speakers for success, whether I’m guiding volunteer committee members on a project or ensuring a speaker’s session brings value to the HIMSS audience, it ultimately reflects on the high-quality education expected of HIMSS. I also was one of the original “pioneers” of a very small group of HIMSS folks who led the way to expand HIMSS programs in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. It was a tough road in those early days, but I am proud of how far we have come as a global organization!

How do you know your work at HIMSS makes a difference?

I know when a program was a success by the many compliments from attendees, speakers and planning committee members. I take pride in the fact that HIMSS is very diligent in offering exceptional education programs.

What’s one thing you wish everyone knew about the work you do at HIMSS?

I wish people knew the details that go into planning a HIMSS program. It isn’t as cut and dry as one may think. There are many steps involved in planning a program and securing speaker, each having their own different nuances and challenges.
