HIMSS serves the global health information and technology communities with focused operations across North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Our members include more than 80,000 individuals, 480 provider organizations, 470 non-profit partners and 650 health services organizations. The HIMSS staff is made up of changemakers who collaborate with members to reform the global health ecosystem through the power of information and technology.

How long have you been at HIMSS?
It will be six years on Sept. 8, 2020.
How do you support our mission statement?
I serve as the staff liaison for global TIGER community and initiative at HIMSS. TIGER works to provide tools and resources for students/early careerists/adult learners to advance their skills and for educators to develop health informatics curricula. TIGER is working hard to harness the power of information and technology to positivity impact the global health ecosystem.
How do you know your work at HIMSS makes a difference?
This week, I’ve hosted interviews with potential TIGER Scholars Informatics Interns. Hearing about how they came to find TIGER from webinar offerings, through subscribing to the TIGER Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) or via our Twitter handle has been so heartwarming and let me know that this work is indeed making a difference as we focus on helping prepare the next generation of global healthcare professionals to ultimately improve patient care.
What’s one thing you wish everyone knew about the work you do at HIMSS?
I wish everyone knew how passionate I am about the work TIGER is doing and what an honor it is to serve in this role. When you do what you love, it never feels like work.
The photo above was actually taken in the HIMSS Chicago office as I was getting prepared to depart for HIMSS16. During the HIMSS Communities Open House event organized by the Informatics team, we drew upon the spirit of Las Vegas – Elvis, showgirls, Siegfried & Roy. Of course, I chose a TIGER onesie.
