The Genie's out of the Bottle: The Future of Virtual Care

Virtual visits led by telemedicine skyrocketed during the COVID-19 pandemic, as much as 4,000% at some health systems. Expect those numbers to drop a bit as the pandemic’s rampage recedes, but rest assured, healthcare will never be the same. COVID-19 knocked down age-old barriers to adoption and gave patients and clinicians no choice but to embrace and appreciate virtual care like never before. Now there is no turning back.

In this Accelerate Health session, two established virtual health innovators join a leading patient advocate to discuss the future state of telehealth and other digital tools such as remote patient monitoring, mobile health, apps, and chatbots. They come at this discussion from different perspectives but agree on one thing: If COVID-19 has a silver lining, it’s the acceleration of virtual care with all its advantages: personalized, high value, convenient care with great outcomes. As the speakers will discuss, virtual care will reshape the healthcare landscape dramatically, creating both winners (patients especially) and stragglers (healthcare providers who refuse to change).
