Meet the Changemakers: Evelyn Wee

HIMSS serves the global health information and technology communities with focused operations across North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Our members include more than 80,000 individuals, 480 provider organizations, 470 non-profit partners and 650 health services organizations. The HIMSS staff is made up of changemakers who collaborate with members to reform the global health ecosystem through the power of information and technology.

How long have you been at HIMSS?

I have been at HIMSS for a year and a half.

How do you support our mission statement?

As part of the communities team, I manage membership administration for our members, as well as the registration for our events in Asia Pacific. I believe that the work that I do enables and facilitates access to all the different content and resources we have globally.

How do you know your work at HIMSS makes a difference?

With membership numbers steadily increasing, and with the number of requests I receive, it shows that there is a demand and a need for the content that we create. In a sense, I am a link in a chain that continuously allows the ecosystem to have access to resources, to continue learning and to exchange knowledge smoothly.

What’s one thing you wish everyone knew about the work you do at HIMSS?

It is all about the people – our members and the communities. There’s always something going on, and continuously working with different stakeholders globally isn’t easy, but it is definitely worth doing.
