Cheristi Cognetta-Rieke, DNP, MBOE, is an assistant professor of nursing at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, Minnesota, and chief nursing officer for Mayo Clinic Health System – Southeast Minnesota region.  She is the creator of MyStory©, a tool that captures hospitalized patients’ stories in order to personalize their care, and she was the first advisory board member for NarrativeDX, now a Press Ganey natural language processing tool.  Dr. Cognetta-Rieke holds a doctor of nursing practice, a master’s degree in business operational excellence, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing.  She is an active researcher, author and enjoys serving as a preceptor for nursing students and a leadership coach.  Dr. Cognetta-Rieke is a dynamic leader with the ability to think innovatively and challenge the status quo.  She has proven her ability to inspire others and drive change by working with physician partners, peers, colleagues, front line staff, patients, families, and community groups.
