John Rayner is Regional Director of HIMSS Analytics for Europe and Latin America prior to which he was Director of Professional Development with HIMSS-UK.

John has an extensive 35 year career in the English National Health Service, having first entered in 1979 and qualified as a Registered Nurse shortly thereafter. He broad NHS leadership experience having managed clinical services in acute hospitals, strategy in regional Health Authorities and operations in Shared Service organisations.

John was the CIO for an acute Hospital Trust in the North of England and Director of The Health Informatics Service one of the largest and most successful IM&T shared service organisations in the UK.  

He is keen hill walker and general outdoor enthusiast and takes a professional interest in the food and drink industry as both chef and critic.
