The 53 Member States of the World Health Organization’s European Region recently approved a Resolution and Action Plan to scale up digital transformation for better health. HIMSS has extensive experience in the area and stands ready to help.

The Regional Digital Health Action Plan for the WHO-Europe 2023-2030 was submitted to the 72nd Session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe in September in Tel Aviv, Israel. HIMSS President & CEO Hal Wolf delivered a keynote address on strategies to advance digital health for equity in Europe and throughout the world.

The plan aligns with HIMSS’s commitment to strengthening the skills of a diverse digital health workforce and several ongoing HIMSS efforts, including the Global Public Policy Principles, support for the European Health Data Space and the work of the Digital Health Advisory Group for Europe, which addresses a much-needed workforce development.

“We wholly support WHO’s regional action plan for Europe,” Wolf said. “We have many projects already in place with European nations that would bolster WHO’s efforts, and we are ready to share our knowledge.”
