HIMSS Oregon Population Health Forum on Data Governance 2017

October 4, 2017
Portland, Oregon

A Strategic and Collaborative Approach

Healthcare, similar to most industries, has a unique set of challenges related to Data Governance. In this forum, Mr. Stockwell will provide an overview of Asante’s journey toward value-based data governance. Presentation topics will include establishing scope, organizational structure and the introduction of data governance into the culture and operational activities of the system. Attendees will gain a practical approach to consider when developing a data governance program, essential techniques to overcoming cultural and fiscal challenges and access to working tools to enable data governance in their organizations.

Additionally, we hope this event lays the framework for establishing a forum for healthcare organizations currently working on or considering starting data governance programs. The goal of the Oregon Chapter of HIMSS is for the forum members to regularly work together, share ideas and develop best practices and procedures that will support the success of each member, the Oregon healthcare community and the evolution of data governance in healthcare overall.
