Senior Director, Strategic Relations

Stephanie S. Denvir, CAE is Senior Director, Strategic Relations for HIMSS, a global, cause-based, not-for-profit organization focused on better health through information and technology.

At HIMSS, she is responsible for fostering and maintaining strategically-important connections with key strategic players within the HIMSS ecosystem that are significantly impactful and contribute to moving the Society’s mission forward. This includes oversight for the HIMSS 54 North American Chapters - representing more than 97% of HIMSS membership; as well as serving as a trusted advisor and the primary liaison between strategically-important relationships with non-profits, corporations, foundations, provider health settings, government, academia, and other entities and HIMSS. In addition, she leads HIMSS Women in Health IT initiative and HX360 Executive Engagement.

Denvir joined HIMSS in 2004 as Program Manager of Member Services for individual retention and the SunSHINE User Group, a collaboration between HIMSS and Sun Microsystems. She was promoted to Manager in 2005 with added responsibilities of Chapter and Special Interest Group (SIG) programs. In 2006, she launched the Community for Connected Health, a Cisco Users Group. Denvir was promoted in 2007 to Senior Manager of Member Services and later, Regional Affairs, overseeing Chapters, regional events, volunteer recognition, and individual membership recruitment. Under her direction, HIMSS Chapter Programs, as well member benefits and services for the association’s individual members and corporate partners, have expanded. In 2011, Denvir was promoted Director of Strategic Relationships with oversight for collaborative relationships.

Before joining HIMSS, Denvir was a Manager at SmithBucklin, a large association management firm in Chicago, IL. She managed international commercial and technology user groups, with strong concentration on Regional User Groups (RUGs) activities and event management. Prior to SmithBucklin, she was the Director of Special Events for the Michigan SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) Alliance, responsible for all statewide events. She has also worked at the Arthritis Foundation of Michigan coordinating campaign development.

Denvir earned a BA in Marketing from Michigan State University. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, Association Forum of Chicagoland, as well as a Certified Association Executive (CAE). She also volunteers as a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through their Team in Training program.
