HIMSS Oregon Webinar: Centralized Provider Data in Oregon 2018

March 20, 2018
Online

Oregon’s health care system relies heavily on timely and accurate provider data. This information is key to supporting core business functions such as credentialing, managing patient-facing provider directories, coordinating care and health information exchange, and analytics. The Oregon Health Authority is working to centralize and align provider data to reduce administrative inefficiencies and provider burden while improving the quality of provider data.

Through its Office of Health Information Technology, OHA is implementing two health information technology programs aimed to meet these objectives. The Common Credentialing Program is a mandated program for the centralized collection and verification of health care practitioner information. The Provider Directory will serve as is a trusted, accurate source of provider information that will support operations, health information exchange, and analytic uses.

Webinar Topics

This webinar will provide an overview of issues related to provider data and information on OHA’s two projects, including how providers and organizations can use them, and when they are expected to be operational. It will be most interesting to health care providers, payers, coordinated care organizations, health plans and systems, and clinic administrators.

Specifically, attendees will gain an understanding of:

  • The complexities of provider data and current alignment efforts in Oregon
  • The Oregon Common Credentialing Program, user requirements, and program value
  • The scope of the statewide Provider Directory and its uses and value
