DARE Foundation

The DARE Project (Digital Lifelong Prevention) is a four-year initiative, co-financed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research as part of the National Plan of Complementary Investments to the PNRR. The project aims to develop prevention and digital health in Italy through the complete valorisation of the health data chain, including data relevant to health, such as those linked to lifestyles, the environment, and the climate, and the reinforcement of data governance capabilities. To do this, it can count on a multidisciplinary team of over 400 researchers, technologists, and clinicians who are developing innovative technical, ethical-legal, and organizational solutions to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and adherence of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention programmes.

The DARE Foundation is the hub and beating heart of the initiative. The mission of the DARE Foundation is to grow as an internationally-recognised connected and distributed knowledge community specializing in Digital Health. We aim to:

  • prepare national and regional health ecosystems for future demands and support them in adopting the necessary innovation to transform;
  • favour innovative research and set up tangible demonstrators to leverage enabling technologies for improving the social-health sector;
  • improve prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation pathways using evidence as a guiding star, a multi-project approach, and a One Health and Planetary Health vision.
