The Role of Machine Learning and AI in Pandemic Management

The only thing more controversial than the use of face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic has been the government response to it. Initial numbers have been confused, the presentation to the public has been hit and miss and the sharing of data has been scattershot at best. Kahn and Martinez both serve on their state committees on handling COVID-19 data and have been in the trenches since the start of the pandemic not only watching the management of information but also how it has hurt the public response. This conversation will discuss many of the lessons learned, how their states have handled their responses and how the public and private partnership can be better organized and better prepared.

Key takeaways:
What are some of the biggest holes and gaps in communication during a national emergency?
How can the public/private partnership be improved?
What role does data play and how does that information enable MLAI to bring solutions to the table?
