Dr. Alhefzi is a Consultant Physician in Preventive Medicine, Health & Clinical Informatics, he obtained his MBBS from King Khalid University (Abha, Saudi Arabia) and received his MSc with Merit from Swansea University Medical School (Swansea, Wales, UK) as was the 1st board-certified physician in Health Informatics in the kingdom.
He currently is the Digital Partner & Country Lead at Pfizer Saudi Arabia, continuing his journey from his last post as the Digital Health Lead at Novartis Saudi Arabia Ltd. where he envisions to revamp digital health in the local pharma industry.
He also is the Vice President of the Saudi Association for Health Informatics (SAHI), and Board Member of the Saudi Scientific Society for Preventive Health (SSSPH).
After more than 10 years in the Saudi healthcare public sector, he navigated through healthcare delivery, digital health strategies, digital workforce enablement, and large-scale and national project management by working with different public, private and NGO stakeholders as well as local regulators.
In 2019, he was the co-project director and the physician lead of Epic EMR project in King Fahad Medical City (KFMC), which is considered the largest of its nature in Saudi Arabia. Prior to that he worked as the Senior Consultant to establish the Health Informatics Center at the Saudi Public Health Authority (SaudiCDC), leading the public health surveillance teams to align with the national preventative health programs across the kingdom. Where he spent plenty of years in Clinical Informatics @ King Faisal Medical City for Southern Regions (KFMCity) and King Fahd Specialist Hospital-Dammam (KFSH-D)
He has been awarded Elseiver-Zimam Award for the best transformation project in 2019, Dubai, UAE.
