Patti Cuartas is responsible for leading the development and implementation of business-aligned IT services to support Population Health activities for all populations, including commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid patients. She is responsible for IT initiatives and ventures for the Mount Sinai Health Network and Mount Sinai International – additionally from an informatics perspective.  Patti cares for patients at Mount Sinai in the Urgent Care and Virtual Care space as well.

Before joining Mount Sinai in 2015, Patti was Director of Clinical Informatics at Montefiore, where she was responsible for facilitating clinical technology solutions for complex healthcare challenges. She also served as Senior Director in Clinical Information Systems (CIS) at New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (H&H).

Clinically, Patti has been a Physician Assistant (PA) for 20 years, managing patients in a variety of clinical settings from the Emergency Departments and Surgical/Medical Intensive Care Units in City Hospitals, to the inpatient Oncology unit at New York-Presbyterian, to community health centers focused on LGBTQ health and outpatient clinics located within homeless shelters at The Floating Hospital.

Patti is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Stony Brook University, where she teaches in the Applied Health Informatics Master’s Program and the PA Master’s program and is a mentor and preceptor for students.

She also plays a crucial role in championing a diverse and inclusive workforce at Mount Sinai as the chair of the Corporate Diversity Council as well as being a member of the Executive Board and Treasurer of New York State Society of PAs (NYSSPA), and a member of the admissions committee for the PA program at Stony Brook.

Patti is certified in Project Management, holds an MBA in Healthcare Management from Baruch College, and has degrees in PA, Biochemistry, and Psychology from Stony Brook University.  She was named Humanitarian of the year while at Baruch and Outstanding Alumni from Stony Brook University.

In her spare time, Patti is the treasurer and board member of Sugar Mutts Rescue, a 501(c)(3) dog rescue and farm sanctuary organization in Pennsylvania that she runs with her wife, Amy.
