Dr Ranyah Nasser Aldekhyyel

Ranyah Aldekhyyel is an Assistant Professor in health informatics at the College of Medicine, King Saud University. Dr. Aldekhyyel has a master’s degree in health informatics from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and a Ph.D. in health informatics from the University of Minnesota. She also holds a certification in leadership in health information technology for health professionals from the University of Minnesota.  

Dr. Aldekhyyel comes from a broad background in health informatics and healthcare management. She has extensive experience in health informatics research, strategic planning, and healthcare leadership.  Dr. Aldekhyyel’s research interests include the evaluation of consumer health and patient engagement systems, telemedicine, and exploring the use of patient generated health data for research purposes. She has specific training in qualitative research methods, mixed methods approach, and data visualization, reflected by her published work in this area.

Dr. Aldekhyyel currently serves as a member on several national level committees established to review health informatics standards and develop national level training e-courses. She has received several awards for her work, including the Martin Epstein Award in 2016 and the HIMSS Scholarship Award, Minnesota Chapter in 2018.
