Ryan Sousa

Ryan Sousa is a senior leader with over 25 years of broad industry experience leading the creation and commercialization of transformative strategies that leverage analytics/AI at scale to improve lives, streamline operations and capitalize on a rapidly evolving business landscape. 

Ryan was the SVP for two start-ups acquired by Amazon and Nokia. He has led the successful implementation of large scale analytics at Amazon, Expedia, Starbucks and MCI. More recently, he led the analytics transformation at Seattle Children’s as their Chief Data Officer raising the level of maturity from HIMSS AMAM 2 to 7 – the 5th organization to achieve this level of maturity at the time. In addition, he led the first commercial software spin-off for Seattle Children’s, and sits on the Advisory Board of MDmetrix.

Ryan has developed and promoted best practices as an industry leader. He was a faculty member at The Data Warehouse Institute (TDWI) and taught Healthcare Analytics at the University of Washington. He has been an advisor to start-ups, authored books and articles, and guest speaker at industry conferences. In addition, he has consulted globally, assisting companies define and implement their analytic strategy to streamline operations and personalize the customer experience.
