Dr Christos Christou is the International President of Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) since 1 September, 2019.

His time with MSF started in 2003, when he worked with migrants and refugees in Greece. He then joined missions in Sub-Saharan Africa, commencing ARV treatment to HIV/AIDS patients. Since then, he participated in surgical missions in conflict zones and highly insecure contexts, like South Sudan, Mosul Iraq and SW Cameroon.

Dr Christou graduated the medical school in Greece and later was specialized as general and emergency surgeon, also holding a PhD in Colorectal Surgery.

He was the president of MSF Greece Board of Directors since 2012 and was elected International President of MSF in 2019.
