Samsung Medical Center had participated in the 'Medical Information Exchange Project' hosted by the Korea Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Social security Information Service, and had opened the 'Medical Information Exchange System'.

The Health Information Exchange (HIE) project is electronic records exchange service, which transmits the medical records of patients safely, who have consented to the provision of personal information to the desired medical institution in order to ensure continuity of medical care.

Documents that can be exchanged electronically are △medical request, △medical referral, △medical record summary, and △radiology reading opinion.
