Cross-Border Collaborations: Improving Digital Health

This session will be sharing concrete examples of where governments and healthcare organisations are successfully collaborating across borders to implement digital health initiatives that will drive improvements in quality, outcomes, safety, interoperability, sustainability, and accessibility of care. As an example, we will hear about the GCC collaboration on CDC surveillance, learning how data analytics has been used to improve disease mapping across the region. Also, hear from experts on cross border health policy implementation and the challenges and facilitators to successful collaborations between countries, and how these can enhance alignment of standards and regulations across national boundaries, leading to insights on cross border opportunities for the future

Objectives:

  • Describe local success stories in digital health that can be scaled

  • Discuss the digital opportunities that could work across borders to improve health

  • Explain the challenges countries face in harmonising their digital health solutions between nations

  • Explore the opportunities in pre-existing regional alliances that can be leveraged towards improved digital health solutions
